Customizing Your Pool Plan
Need to Adjust Your Plan? We Can Help.
We understand that every building site is unique, and local regulations often require specific adjustments. While our Plans are designed to be comprehensive, we offer professional modification services to ensure your chosen design perfectly fits your needs, local codes, and site specifications.
Understanding Modifications vs. New Design
Before requesting a modification, please note the distinction:
| Type | Description |
| Modification | Minor changes to an existing Plan, such as adjusting the depth, shifting the spa/steps, flipping the orientation, or updating specific dimensions to meet local setbacks. |
| Custom Design | Significant changes that alter the overall aesthetic, structural complexity, or primary features of the pool (e.g., changing a rectangle pool to a freeform, or adding major structural elements). |
If your required change is substantial, it may require a full Custom Design service. Please contact us for a quote if the changes go beyond simple modifications.
Our Modification Process
Follow these simple steps to ensure your Plan is tailored exactly to your site:
Step 1: Purchase the Base Plan
You must first purchase the standard Plan you wish to modify. Modifications services are only available for Plans acquired directly from www.poolplans.com.
Step 2: Submit a Modification Request
Send an email to info@poolplans.com with the following information:
- Plan ID/Name: The exact plan you purchased.
- Detailed List of Changes: Clearly itemize every required change (e.g., "Change shallow end depth from 3'6" to 3'0"", "Flip the plan horizontally," "Move spa 18 inches closer to the pool edge").
- Site/Code Information: Include any relevant information about your building site, local code requirements, or survey drawings that necessitate the change.
Step 3: Receive a Quote and Timeline
Our design team will review your request and provide you with a detailed quote for the modification fee and an estimated completion timeline. Modification fees vary based on the complexity and scope of the requested changes.
Step 4: Approval and Payment
Once you approve the quote, we will send you an invoice for the modification service fee. Work will begin immediately upon receipt of payment.
Step 5: Final Delivery
We will deliver the revised, and updated digital Plan files to you via email. The modified Plans replace the original documents for construction purposes.
Important Disclaimers
- Final Review is Required: While we strive for accuracy, the final responsibility for ensuring the modified Plan meets all local ordinances, zoning requirements, and HOA guidelines remains with the purchaser and their building professional.
- Permitting: Changes to the Plan may affect the permitting process. It is your responsibility to submit the modified Plans to your local authorities.
- No Further Modifications: The modification fee covers one round of revisions based on your initial request. Additional changes requested after the revised Plan is delivered may incur a new modification fee.
